Mission & Purpose

To proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and make disciples of all kinds of people. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matt. 28:19-20). “And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).

Our Beliefs & Values

The Holy Scriptures

We teach the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be verbally inspired by God, the final authority for faith, practice and governing of Christ’s church, inherent in the original writing, infallible and God breathed. All other “Sacred” writing which claim inspiration, including the Apocrypha, are not the word of God which claims. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1: 20-21; Matt. 5:18; John 16:12-13; Rev. 22:18-19)

Our Pastor: Rev. Oakley Greaves and Wife

Pastor

Rev Oakley Greaves stands being a committed, dedicated and industrious man of God. His work has lend itself to par excellence. Rev. Greaves is an ordained minister and marriage office with skills in pasturing, youth ministering, counseling, lecturing church planting and involvement in community based organizations. He is a proud graduate of Bethel Bible College where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology, and Luther Rice Seminary where he achieved both a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical studies and a Master of Arts Degree in ministry with a major in Counseling. Rev. Greaves also, obtained a Certificate in Christian Education from the Toronto Baptist Seminary in Canada. Rev. Greaves is the Pastor of both the May Pen and Sandy Bay Baptist Churches.

Youth Group

Hey friends, Welcome to the May pen Baptist youth fellowship, where we try to live according to the scripture by fellowshipping with the spirit. Our motto is “knowing Jesus and making Jesus known”. We seek to bring young people to Christ through our regular meeting and activities such as debates, crusades etc. You are invited to join us every Friday at 4pm for fun, food and fellowship

A whole hearted welcome to the May Pen Baptist Church Men’s Department, our main focus is
to empower, educate and enrich souls for God’s kingdom while alleviate the stresses of life
though games, fellowshipping, seminars forum discussions, online sessions. Through this hard
and gruesome time may our hearts be encouraged from Hebrews 4:15 : ‘For we have not an
high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points
tempted like as we are, yet without sin.’ So let us continue to look to Him because He is the
source of all our strength.

Group Bible Study

At May Pen Baptist Church our Sunday School Program is now referred to as Group Bible Study. The focus is Christian education for all; therefore, there is a class for everyone. We believe that the accurate teaching of God’s word is the foundation for spiritual maturity. Therefore much emphasis is placed on knowing and understanding God’s word so that as Christians we can live lives that are pleasing to our Heavenly Father, thereby fulling Romans 12:1 which urges us to “be transformed by the renewing of their minds” and 2 Timothy 2:15 which commands us to “study to show ourselves approved.”
While the main focus of the Group Bible Study program is to edify the saints; we also use the opportunity to evangelize the unsaved who participate in these classes.
We encourage all persons who attend Sunday morning service to remain for an extra 35 minutes of Group Bible Study where the “pure, undiluted word of God “is examined in an interactive and relaxed manner – delivered by effective teachers.
We encourage you to “seek ye first the kingdom of God …” (Matthew 6:33) and not to be “persons who perish because of lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). Prioritize the study of God’s word. Choose to participate in a Group Bible Study class. There is a class for everyone. You have the kingdom of heaven to gain and nothing to lose. We look forward to seeing you at Group Bible Study on Sundays 10:45 – 11:20am.
